Synplicity Signs OEM Agreement with EVE; Expands into Rapidly Growing Verification Market
SUNNYVALE, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—July 19, 2006—
Synplicity, Inc. (Nasdaq:SYNP), a leading supplier of
software for the design and verification of semiconductors, today
announced the signing of a multi-year OEM agreement with EVE pursuant
to which Synplicity will provide EVE's customers with access to
Synplicity's industry-leading FPGA synthesis technology. Under terms
of the agreement, EVE will bundle a customized version of Synplicity's
Synplify Pro(R) software into its ZeBu hardware-assisted verification
suite, allowing EVE's customers to benefit from the increased
performance and quality of results offered by Synplicity's FPGA
synthesis software. In addition, the signing of this OEM agreement
provides Synplicity an increased opportunity to supply its synthesis
software to the growing Design Team Emulation and Acceleration Market.
According to Gartner, this segment is slated to grow at a 17 percent
CAGR between 2006 and 2009.
"By bundling the highly reliable and fast Synplify Pro software
within our ZeBu compiler, augmented by the ability to parallelize the
synthesis process on farms of PCs, we will offer our customers an
advanced and compelling implementation solution," said Lauro Rizzatti,
vice president of marketing and general manager of EVE-USA. "This
agreement with Synplicity provides EVE with critical technology that
nicely complements our product offering. We are pleased to be able to
partner with Synplicity and look forward to a strong relationship with
them in the years to come."
"It is gratifying to establish this agreement with EVE, who has an
established track record of delivering sophisticated verification
solutions to the marketplace," said Joe Gianelli, vice president of
business development at Synplicity. "EVE has a strong foothold within
the emerging hardware-assisted verification market and we believe our
FPGA synthesis solution will lend itself nicely to support its
customers' functional verification needs. We believe this OEM
agreement with EVE further demonstrates that the Synplify Pro software
is the FPGA synthesis tool of choice."
